(TROUTDALE, Ore.) — Two people are dead following a shooting at a high school in Troutdale, Oregon, Tuesday morning.
Police responded to Reynolds High School, located east of Portland, at 8:07 a.m. local time after receiving reports of shots fired.
One student, identified as Emilio Hoffman, 14, was shot and killed by the gunman before the suspect was located, Troutdale Police Chief Scott Anderson said at a press conference Tuesday.
The gunman, who acted alone, has since been confirmed deceased. The weapon used at the scene was a rifle.
One teacher was also injured with non-life threatening injuries and was treated at the scene, Anderson said.
