After announcing that he’ll play the venue’s final concert ever at San Francisco’s Candlestick Park on August 14, Paul McCartney has added a show at another famous California stadium to his 2014 U.S. tour itinerary. The rock legend has confirmed an August 10 performance at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.
The event will mark the first time McCartney has played at the L.A. ballpark since The Beatles performed there on August 28, 1966. That show was the Fab Four’s next-to-last official concert, which took place a day before the group’s final, official live gig — at Candlestick Park.
Sir Paul’s most recent Los Angeles shows were a pair of March 2010 performances at the Hollywood Bowl. Tickets for the Dodger Stadium concert will go on sale to the general public on Monday, May 5, at 10 a.m. PT. Fans who have registered at PaulMcCartney.com, meanwhile, will have the chance to buy pre-sale tickets starting this Tuesday at 9 a.m. PT, while American Express Card holders will be able to purchase pre-sale tickets beginning Thursday at 10 a.m.
The U.S. leg of McCartney’s Out There World Tour kicks off June 14 in Lubbock, Texas.
