The 101 Number One Song of the Day comes from the soundtrack of the movie American Gigolo whose composer was turned down by Stevie Nicks to record vocals for the album. So he turned to another blond who not only sang for him, she wrote the words to what would become number one this day. (You’ll hear it next.) She listened to music and then went home and within a couple of hours she completed the lyrics and worked out the harmonies and on April 19th, 1980 it arrived at number one in the U. S. The blonde’s name – Debbie Harry of Blondie and this is the song: Call Me.
