It was 15 years ago today  that Beach Boys co-founder Carl Wilson died of cancer. Carl started the group in 1961 with his older brothers Brian and Dennis, along with cousin Mike Love and friends David Marks and Alan Jardine. Although never the creative force that his brothers were in terms of either songwriting or production, Carl’s flawless tenor vocals were showcased on many of the group’s greatest recordings, including “God Only Knows,” “Good Vibrations,” “I Can Hear Music,” “Surf’s Up,” and many more. Carl was also known for his raucous R&B vocals on such hits as “Darlin’” and “Wild Honey.”
