Michael Jackson‘s mom and his children has lost their wrongful death suit against concert promoter AEG Live. Jackson’s mom Katherine Jackson sued the concert promoter, claiming that they contributed to her MJ’s death by negligently hiring Dr. Conrad Murray to be his doctor. Dr. Murray — who gave MJ a deadly dose of the powerful anesthetic propofol, was found guilty of Michael Jackson’s death back in 2011.
After four days of deliberations, the jury found that Dr. Conrad Murray was not unfit or incompetent to be MJ’s doctor.
- During the closing arguments of the five month trial, AEG Lawyer Marvin Putnam said that the concert promoter would not have financed MJ’s This is It Tour if they knew that Michael was “playing Russian roulette in his bedroom every night.” He explained, “The sad truth is Mr. Jackson’s death was caused by his choices and it would have happened no matter what – with or without AEG Live.”
- Conrad Murray is set to be released from jail on October 28th.
