Billy Joel says his two upcoming festival appearances will tell him whether or not his touring days are done. Billy, who delivered a world class set at last year’s 12-12-12 benefit concert in New York City, will next play on April 21st at Sydney, Australia’s Stone Music Festival and on April 27th hit the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. Earlier this year he told Rolling Stone that following his double hip replacement surgeries a few years back, he’s not as good as he was during his live heyday.

Billy spoke to ABC News and admitted that next month’s shows will prove to him whether or not he has what it takes to head back on the road: “I want to see if it’s time for me to get off the stage. There’s a time when an athlete says I can’t swing the bat anymore. So I get to feel it out. . . this will be a big test for me. I don’t want to be that guy; I don’t want to be Spinal Tap.”
