1941 Japanese warplanes attack Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, killing nearly 3,000 which, in turn, brings the U. S. into World War II.

1963: During the Army-Navy game, videotaped instant replay was used for the first time in a live sports telecast as CBS re-showed a one-yard touchdown run by Army quarterback Rollie Stichweh. Navy won 21-15.

1964 on a flight between Houston and Los Angeles, one of the passengers had a nervous breakdown.  It would be a long time before he’d fly again and he decided to quit touring with the band he created: the Beach Boys – it was Brian Wilson.
