1934: 33-year-old Charles “Pretty Boy” Floyd died in an Ohio cornfield after being shot eight times by FBI agents. He wasn’t so pretty after the Feds got him.
1962: President Kennedy announced an air and naval blockade of Cuba, following the discovery of Soviet missile bases on the island.
1964: EMI Records turned down a chance to sign the group High Numbers. So they changed their name back to what they had used earlier and signed with Decca. Who were they? Yes, they were – and are “The Who.”
