The Space Age officially began on October 4th, 1957, when the USSR launched the world’s first artificial satellite, “Sputnik I.”








1988: Televangelist Jim Bakker is indicted on federal charges of mail and wire fraud and of conspiring to defraud the public.   And who can forget his lovely wife, Tammy Faye.





1970: A 27 year old rock and roll singer died of an overdose at the Landmark Motel in Hollywood – it was Janis Joplin.
