…REUNION TOUR TONIGHT IN LONDON
The Beach Boys’ closing song last night at the Royal Albert Hall — “Summer’s Gone”:
The Beach Boys will wrap up their 74-date reunion tour tonight (September 28th) in London at the 12,500-seat Wembley Arena. Last night’s 61-song show at the Royal Albert Hall was peppered with old favorites and deep cuts — including such set list rarities as “The Little Girl I Once Knew,” “Still Cruisin’,” and “Our Prayer” — the opening a capella cut from the band’s legendary Smile album. As a nod to both the end of the tour, and possibly the fact that Mike Love has chosen to not carry on with co-founders Brian Wilson, David Marks, and Al Jardine — the band closed the show with the world premiere of the melancholy “Summer’s Gone,” which was co-written with Jon Bon Jovi and serves as the closing track to the band’s recent hit comeback album, That’s Why God Made The Radio.
