101 #1 Song of the Day – 7-27-12

The 101 number one song of the day was written on a ski lift in less than 10 minutes and it brought the writer back to his college sweetheart.

They were married several years before but they had grown apart and they separated. He flew to Switzerland but after six days – which according to the couple felt like three months – a tearful long distance call made them realized how important their relationship was and before he returned to the states he was inspired to write the song which rose to number one on July 27, 1974.
