Today’s featured artist had an affinity for collecting cars but somehow word got out that he collected a certain type of stuffed animal. As a result, people from all over the world started sending them to him to add to the non-existent collection. In no time at all, he had thousands of them so the rumor became a reality. It inspired a couple of songwriters from Philadelphia to write a song about it, which he sang in movie he was starring in about a truck driver who became a rock and roll singer. The movie was called “Lovin’ You” and the title track was the flip side of today’s 101 number one song of the day. The year was 1957 and the singer was Elvis and the stuffed animal was a teddy bear.
