1947 – Larry Doby became the first black baseball player in the American League when he joined the lineup of the Cleveland Indians.
During a sold-out concert 22 years ago today, this former soccer player turned rock star hit his head on part of the stage set and was knocked unconscious in front of 15,000 horrified fans. It was Rod Stewart.
