1838 The British newspaper The Sun printed its issue entirely in gold ink. It was to celebrate Queen Victoria’s coronation the day before.
1972 Atari was founded by Nolan Bushnell who also gave us Pong and Chuck E. Cheese!
1994 Now the dental floss story! Robert Shepard escaped from a Charleston jail by scaling an 18 foot wall using a rope made from the stuff – which he had been purchasing at the jail store. He was recaptured a month later. The jail store doesn’t sell dental floss anymore.
1956 in music history – he was dressed in a tux and tails on Steve Allen’s TV variety show. He sang to a Bassett Hound sitting on a stool. See it on the next page.
