National Auto Service Professionals Week begins today.

Today is National Feed the Ducks Day. (Pigeons don’t count).

 

 

 

1919 Sir Barton becomes the first horse to win the Triple Crown by winning the Belmont Stakes after capturing the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness.

 

 

 

 

 

 

1963: Alabama Governor George Wallace stood at the door of Foster Auditorium at the University of Alabama in an attempt to block two black students from attending that school.

 

 

 

 

 

1966: A one time drifter who brought her powerful, bluesy voice from Texas to San Francisco’s psychedelic scene, where she became a superstar performed for the first time with Big Brother & the Holding Company. It was Janis Joplin.
