1968 – While celebrating his victory in the California Democratic presidential primary in Los Angeles, Senator Robert F. Kennedy was shot. He died the following day. The gunman, Sirhan Sirhan, was later convicted of the murder.






1982: Sophia Loren is released from a 17-day prison sentence for tax evasion in Italy.






1971: James Taylor release a song which was written by his friend Carole King who also made the song a big hit: “You’ve Got A Friend.”
