Felice Bryant was an elevator operator at a hotel where Boudleaux Bryant was playing a date with a jazz band. When he entered the elevator, she recognized him immediately because she had first seen his face in a dream she had when she was a little girl. They were married soon after and began collaborating in music. He wrote the melody and she wrote the lyrics. One of their songs was recorded by two people who also met at an early age but it wasn’t part of a dream – they were part of the same family and had been performing on the radio since they were kids.
