The most successful song ever for a group that most observers thought had peaked a decade earlier! The Four Seasons had four number ones and lots of hits between 1962 and 1964. This song was written by a former member of the group about the repeal of prohibition. The group retooled the tune removing the reference to 1933 and adding to the chorus and topped the charts in 1976.
